the rocket queen is our 1st bike design project. it all started with a 2007 harley davidson sportster 883 low, and has been gradually changing and transforming itself into the closest thing you can get to a bobber with a 2007 sportster chassis which we decided to keep for budget reasons. actual work was mainly done by txus from biker store 1903 in madrid except for the handlebar which was installed by david in motor-cycles, also in madrid.
originaly, the idea was to travel back to the 1950´s trying to end up with the closest to a bobber possible while making it fit to ride every day.
all the sheetmetal is flat black with a pin up girl on the tank imitating nose art from old bomber planes. the name "rocket queen" happens to appear in several places from which i got the inspiration. the first time i came across the rocket queen, was at a tattoo convention, where i saw the design of a pin up girl riding a rocket... i wish i could find a picture of this design. then spitfire (the skate boarding brand), had a set of wheels called rocket queens... they had a similar design of a pin up style girl riding a rocket. and last but not least, the guns n´ roses´ song.
there is a full set of gear matching the bike, including t-shirts, shoes, jacket and a pilot helmet with a communication system which can be hooked up to a phone with a military style throat microphone.
future plans included a softail frame, spring seat and a few other upgrades, however, the bike was sold in march 2011 and to give way to "la canalla" project.
